Upcycling waste polyethylene into porous chromium carbide (Cr<sub>23</sub>C<sub>6</sub>) ceramics at low temperature

In this paper, we have successfully prepared porous chromium carbide ceramics by a facile one-step method. The synthesis reaction is carried out in an autoclave using waste polyethylene as carbon source. Generally, the as-obtained characterized X-ray diffraction, scanning electron microscope (SEM) and transmission microscope. diffraction pattern shows that sample cubic phase (Cr23C6). SEM results show composed of particles with average pore size 200 nm. addition, oxidation resistance Cr23C6 was studied thermogravimetric analyzer. resource utilization plastic can solve problems energy shortage environment pollution simultaneously to achieve sustainable development.
